S. Bruce Smith School is a unique community school which offers a variety of programs to enrich our students academically, physically, emotionally and artistically. With a dedicated staff that strives to improve themselves through professional development activities in the areas of Differentiated Instruction and Assessment for Learning, we eagerly anticipate the opportunity to work with our students, parents, and community members. This year we will be focusing on the 3 C’s of education. That is, we will the answer the question, “How do we make our students feel Capable, Connected and Contributing members in our daily lessons?”

We are looking forward to meeting and working with all our parents throughout this year. There will be many opportunities for conversations, collaboration and celebration. Your support and encouragement will make a difference in the achievement of your children. We believe a successful education is based on shared leadership and joint responsibility between home and school. A relationship based on trust, honesty, dedication and a genuine concern to offer the best education for all students will result in continued high levels of academic success. As we focus on the higher level thinking skills of evaluation, and reinforce the importance of self-directed learning, we welcome the support, input and interest from all parents, as partners in the educational process.
